Artist Statement: As a Photographer it all began for me in my early teen years. Always finding the beauty in a variety of things that others seemed to overlook. This was the point in my life when I stopped looking at things and began seeing them. At that time I had no idea that Photography was going to become my passion. It wasn't until the birth of my first child ten years ago that I began snapping excessive amounts of photos. Being a Photographer is more than just snapping a photo, it’s seeing the world and people in a more artistic and spiritual light. All this only enhanced for me when I started to really get into Photography using my Step-fathers Nikon about 4 years ago. Looking at the world through that lens in particular changed everything for me. I would begin to notice every little detail about the clouds or how the sunlight and wind hit the trees. I would notice the curves on a persons body and examine their facial features just to find the rare beauty in everyone. Once I began my use with digital editing programs such as Photoshop, I was able to enhance these beauties on a whole new level…a level that I personally never thought possible. I love to take an image and turn into something dream-like, something so vivid and unique. From a blooming flower or sunset to a family portrait I try to put that “special touch” on everything. Being able to make people smile and freeze an important moment in their life is amazing! I consider myself honored to be a part of that! My goal is to continue to capture the beauty in everyone and everything and share it with the world!
